The Nuffield Medical Fellowship at the University of Oxford is inviting applications from exceptional early-career medical researchers seeking to develop independent research careers in a world-leading academic environment.

Established in 2026, the fellowship is designed for researchers who are transitioning to, or have recently achieved, full research independence. The programme provides a University of Oxford employment contract, full salary and generous research funding for five years, together with opportunities for career progression. The inaugural cohort is expected to begin in early 2028, with two fellowships available in the first cohort.

The fellowship is open to researchers worldwide, but proposed research must include a collaborative link with a research institution based in a Commonwealth country outside the United Kingdom.
