The fellowship provides full tuition and fee coverage for the upcoming academic year, alongside a US$50,000 stipend to help recipients meet living expenses while completing their PhD studies. Finalists will also receive a US$5,000 monetary award. The programme is open to eligible domestic and international PhD students studying at accredited research institutions in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. Students who have committed to starting an eligible PhD programme in Fall 2027 may also apply.
Jane Street is a quantitative trading firm that applies mathematical reasoning, statistics, computer science, machine learning, and other technical disciplines to complex problems in global financial markets.
Its Graduate Research Fellowship supports doctoral researchers whose work demonstrates technical excellence, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to rigorous research. Applicants do not need to focus their research directly on finance or trading to be considered.
