GFF x CIVIC VOICES Funding Opportunity for African CSOs

Contexte

The GFF x CIVIC VOICES Funding Opportunity is providing financial support to local civil society organizations (CSOs), youth-led organizations, and community-based organizations working to strengthen civic engagement and improve health and nutrition outcomes for women, children, and adolescents across Africa.

The initiative is being implemented through the World Bank Group’s GFF × CIVIC partnership, a collaboration between the Global Financing Facility for Women, Children and Adolescents (GFF) and CIVIC: The Civil Society and Social Innovation Alliance. The program seeks to address barriers that often prevent civil society and young people from meaningfully participating in health policy and financing processes. Through the VOICES consortium, organizations in up to 22 African countries can apply for subgrants supporting advocacy, coalition-building, youth leadership, and domestic resource mobilization for health and nutrition.

The VOICES initiative is being delivered by a consortium led by PATH, in partnership with the African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP) and the Organisation of African Youth (OAY). The partners work together under VOICES, which stands for Voices Organizing for Inclusive Civic Engagement and Sustainability.

The initiative focuses particularly on strengthening civil society engagement around domestic resource mobilization for the health and nutrition needs of women, children, and adolescents.

A total of up to US$3.35 million in financial support will be awarded across participating African countries. Selected organizations will also have access to advocacy training, budget analysis technical assistance, and mentorship designed to strengthen their capacity to influence health financing and policy processes.

Successful organizations will also benefit from capacity-strengthening opportunities, including advocacy training, technical assistance on budget analysis, and mentorship.

Profil recherché

The opportunity is open to eligible organizations operating in the African countries covered by the program. Applicants must be local civil society organizations, youth-led organizations, and/or community-based organizations.

Organizations applying as a partnership must meet the requirement of having between two and three participating organizations, including at least one youth-led organization.
