Contexte
The EGRI Governance and Policy Leadership Fellowship 2026 is a six-month virtual fellowship and professional internship programme designed for emerging policy professionals who want practical experience working on governance and public policy issues. The programme combines structured learning with hands-on assignments and organisational contribution. Rather than functioning solely as an academic training programme, the fellowship gives participants opportunities to apply research, policy analysis, communication and teamwork skills through practical work within a Nigerian think tank. The 2026 cohort will consist of a maximum of 15 fellows, making the programme highly selective.
The EGRI Governance and Policy Leadership Fellowship runs for six months, equivalent to 24 weeks, and is delivered fully online. During the programme, fellows will develop practical skills relevant to policy research and think tank work. Areas covered include researching public problems, analysing evidence, writing policy briefs, using data responsibly, communicating policy ideas to real audiences, working in teams and leading defined assignments. Participants will also gain exposure to institutional partnership development and resource mobilisation for policy work. The programme is therefore designed to help emerging professionals develop the practical capabilities required to contribute to a working policy research organisation.
