Contexte

Request For Proposal for Field Research Services for the Yegna Gize Impact Study in Ethiopia, October 2026. Girl Effect is an international non-profit organization dedicated to addressing challenges faced by adolescent girls and youth in Ethiopia since 2013, leveraging Social and Behavior Change (SBC) strategies. Yegna Gize is a Girl Effect Ethiopia programme focusing on youth economic empowerment across six regions: Tigray, Oromia, Amhara, Central Ethiopia, Sidama, and South Ethiopia. As the programme progresses, Girl Effect Ethiopia intends to commission an independent Impact Study to assess changes in young people’s knowledge, skills, attitudes, aspirations, behaviours, access to opportunities, and economic outcomes.

Missions et responsabilités

• Geographic Coverage: Data collection across 6 regions and 60+ woredas, including hard-to-reach and pastoralist areas.
• Sourcing, Vetting, and Onboarding of Data Collectors: Building and maintaining a roster of qualified, experienced data collectors, verifying qualifications, references, and fieldwork experience, and ensuring functioning tabs and SurveyCTO training.
• Training: Organising and delivering training for all data collectors before each deployment covering tools, sample design, data quality, ethics, consent, child/adolescent safeguarding, and logistics.
• Deployment: Assigning trained collectors per task order, managing logistics (travel, accommodation, safety/security), and providing day-to-day field supervision.
• Data Quality and Timeliness: Real-time monitoring against the sample plan, quality assurance mechanisms (spot-checks, back-checks), prompt escalation of issues, and regular progress reporting.
• Data Analysis and Submission: Cleaning and processing data, conducting analysis, and submitting the final clean dataset, syntax/code, and summary report.

Profil recherché

• Demonstrated experience managing field-based data collection for household, community, or individual-level surveys in Ethiopia on youth, gender, education, livelihoods, or social behaviour change topics.
• Roster of vetted, experienced enumerators with local language coverage and cultural familiarity across the six Yegna Gize regions, including hard-to-reach and pastoralist areas.
• Hands-on experience with mobile data collection platforms, particularly SurveyCTO.
• Robust field supervision and data quality assurance practices (spot-checks, back-checks, real-time progress monitoring).
• In-house or readily available capacity for data cleaning, processing, and first-level quantitative and/or qualitative analysis.
• Ability to mobilize and scale data collection teams on short notice against a recurring, on-call task-order structure.
• Genuine commitment to Girl Effect’s mission and values, with a demonstrated understanding of child/adolescent safeguarding standards.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple concurrent task orders across different regions.
