Contexte

The University of British Columbia (UBC) is offering Professional Master’s Entrance Scholarships for Canadian and international students beginning selected professional master’s programmes in September 2027. Starting in 2027, UBC’s Faculty of Forestry & Environmental Stewardship will provide annual entrance scholarship opportunities to high-achieving students entering its professional master’s programmes.

The scholarships are designed to support exceptional students pursuing practical, career-focused postgraduate education in areas including geomatics, international forestry, sustainable forest management and urban forestry leadership. Eligible students will be assessed on factors such as academic achievement, professional experience and extracurricular involvement. The professional master’s programmes are intensive, non-thesis degrees designed to provide practical skills and industry knowledge. Depending on the programme, students can complete their studies in approximately 9 to 14 months.

Missions et responsabilités

Master of Geomatics for Environmental Management Scholarship : One exceptional Canadian citizen, permanent resident or international student entering UBC’s Master of Geomatics for Environmental Management (MGEM) programme will receive a $5,000 entrance scholarship. The award is merit-based and considers the applicant’s academic record, professional experience and extracurricular activities. The successful recipient must maintain satisfactory academic progress during the first term of the programme.
Master of International Forestry Scholarships : The Master of International Forestry (MIF) offers two entrance scholarship opportunities for exceptional Canadian and international students. The major award is a full-tuition scholarship valued at approximately CAD $21,870 for domestic students and CAD $46,240 for international students for the September 2027 intake. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an online interview in February 2027. MIF also provides a separate $5,000 entrance scholarship to one qualified student who maintains satisfactory progress in the programme.
Master of Sustainable Forest Management Scholarship : One exceptional Canadian citizen, permanent resident or international student entering the Master of Sustainable Forest Management (MSFM) programme will receive a $5,000 entrance scholarship. Selection is based on a holistic assessment of academic achievement, professional experience and extracurricular activities. The recipient must maintain satisfactory progress during the first term.
Master of Urban Forestry Leadership Scholarship : The Master of Urban Forestry Leadership (MUFL) programme also offers a $5,000 entrance scholarship to one exceptional Canadian or international student. The award recognises academic excellence, professional experience and extracurricular achievements. The successful recipient must demonstrate satisfactory progress during the first term of study.
