Contexte
Applications are now open for the 2027 NNPC/Renaissance JV Sabbatical and Postgraduate Research Internship Programme. Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited (Renaissance), operator of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), Renaissance, TotalEnergies and Agip Energy and Natural Resources Joint Venture, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for its 2027 Sabbatical and Postgraduate Research Internship Programme. The programme provides opportunities for Nigerian postgraduate students and university lecturers to gain industry-related experience and contribute to research activities within the energy sector. The programme comprises two categories: Postgraduate Research Internship for University Students and Sabbatical Attachment for University Lecturers. Both categories have a duration of 12 months (non-renewable).
Missions et responsabilités
- Postgraduate Research Internship for University Students : Provides opportunities for Nigerian postgraduate students pursuing Master’s and doctoral qualifications to gain industry-related work experience and conduct topical research within Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited.
- Sabbatical Attachment for University Lecturers : Offers university lecturers an opportunity to undertake research and other activities that contribute to Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited’s objectives, acquire industry-related experience, and contribute to teaching and research activities at Renaissance JV Centres of Excellence (CoEs).
Profil recherché
Postgraduate Research Internship for University Students
- Environment : Impact Assessment and Environmental Compliance Monitoring, Occupational Health, Health Promotion Epidemiology, Statistics.
- Pipeline Availability : PhD candidates in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or Oil & Gas Engineering with at least three years of pipeline engineering experience in design, construction or integrity assessment.
- Exploration : PhD candidates in Geology or Geophysics with an AI-related exploration workflow.
Sabbatical Attachment for University Lecturers (Senior Lecturer and above)
- Environment : Impact Assessment and Biodiversity, Environmental Toxicology, Air Quality Assessment, Hydrobiology, Water Chemistry, Hydrogeology, Ecology.
- Corporate Relations : Social Performance (Social Impact Assessment and Management), Host Community Development Trust (HCDT), Stakeholder Relations.
- Community Health : Consultant Community Health, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics.
- Nigerian Content Development : Professors in any Engineering discipline with an interest in either Process or Project Engineering.
- NNPC/Renaissance JV Centre of Excellence in Geosciences and Petroleum Engineering, University of Benin, Benin City : Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering.
- NNPC/Renaissance JV Centre of Excellence in Marine and Offshore Engineering, Rivers State University, Port Harcourt : Marine/Offshore Engineering, Naval Architecture, Geology, Geophysics, AI in exploration workflows.

- For sabbatical applicants: A one-page summary explaining how the candidate intends to add value to Renaissance’s business during the 12-month sabbatical.
- For research internship applicants: A research proposal outlining the study background, technical objectives, methodology, required data and expected outcomes.
