Climate change is increasing pressure on agricultural systems, ecosystems and rural livelihoods in many parts of the world. Agroforestry provides one approach for considering agricultural production alongside environmental restoration and ecosystem management. The learning experience will combine theoretical content with live online sessions, giving participants opportunities to engage with the subject beyond self-paced study. Sustainable landscape management involves more than technical knowledge. It can also involve questions about how decisions are made, how communities participate and how environmental considerations are incorporated into land-management practices. Participants will therefore develop a broader perspective on the ecological, social and economic dimensions of agroforestry.
